What is EcoTweaks?
EcoTweaks is the iOS and Android app that helps you make more sustainable food choices and live greener. When you add a food to your shopping list, or scan it with the barcode scanner, EcoTweaks will suggest similar alternatives with a smaller carbon footprint. Then, when you go shopping, you'll be buying greener foods without any extra effort.
We don't stop there! Using EcoTweaks you can also swap out-of-season fish, fruits and vegetables for those in-season, run your appliances when the electricity in the UK is greenest, and discover daily green tips to help you on your sustainability journey.
How does EcoTweaks work?
Plan or Scan
Plan your food purchases with our shopping list feature!
Add foods to your shopping list, or scan them with the barcode scanner. Your shopping list can be copied over to an online shopping site if you need to later.
Tweak
Swap out items for similar ones with lower carbon emissions.
EcoTweaks will suggest alternative items to those on your list which have a lower carbon footprint. We'll always suggest similar items so that you can use them in the same recipes you have already planned. Your weekly shop will now be more eco-friendly without you having to change one recipe!
Live
When the time comes, you’ll be living more sustainably without thinking about it!
With your new, greener shopping list, either pop to the shops or do an online order and you will have reduced your carbon emissions just like that. Track your emissions reductions over time and win trophies as you hit various sustainability milestones.

Eating seasonally is one of the best things we can do to make our food purchases more environmentally friendly. Our new seasonal suggestions help you eat more foods that are in season without having to memorise seasonal information about everything you love! Simply add your favourite foods to your shopping list and EcoTweaks will suggest alternatives that are currently in season, fresh and delicious.
