Cozy Mae Studios is a female-founded indie development company based in the UK. We specalise in making impactful apps and creative games for people who care about positive change.
We care deeply about having a real-world impact on important issues and we just so happen to love software development, so we decided to put that skillset to good use!
We also recognise that the way that apps are developed can make a genuine difference to how they feel to users, and so we have adopted the "cozy" culture: our apps and games will be human-made with love, care and passion, in a relaxed yet motivated way. The result? A creative and enjoyable user experience that maximises our positive impact.

Cozy Mae Studios was founded by Alex Leigh to support the important causes she feels passionately about, like climate change. She wanted to channel her technical and creative skillsets into the support of these causes, hopefully contributing to positive change.
Alex believes that doing anything in our power to live more sustainably and be kinder to our planet is one of the most important things we can all do, and so this is where she chose to start. She set out building an app that makes sustainable choices more fun, more manageable and more accessible for all.
Out of this mission, EcoTweaks was born! EcoTweaks is the sustainable food shopping assistant for people who want to live greener, but don't want it to feel like a whole extra effort in their already-busy life. After about a year of solo development, EcoTweaks was launched on the App Store and Google Play Store in 2025.
The development journey was exciting, with many opportunities to learn and grow our confidence and technical ability as a studio, and the enjoyment and sense of achievement has been incomparable. The future looks bright, with EcoTweaks improvements planned as well as new products (and games!) on the horizon.

Alex Leigh
Founder & Lead Developer
Alex is an indie app developer based in the UK. She has 7+ years of experience in data and software engineering, a background in mathematics at the University of Cambridge, and specialises in full stack, cross-platform app development. Alex is committed to building meaningful apps and games that have a real impact on causes she cares about. Her first project, EcoTweaks, is a sustainability food shopping assistant that helps people make small tweaks to their shopping list to live greener without the effort!
Maggie Leigh
CDO (Chief Distraction Officer)
Maggie has been described by her colleagues as "the sweetest of the girlies". She boasts two years of experience in play, reaching impressive speeds when pursuing her toys. Maggie contributes meaningfully to the Cozy Mae Studios team by enforcing wellbeing breaks and fresh air. We don't know where we would be without her.
